But no such file is produced on Windows 7.<\/p>\n<p>Instead go to, <strong class=\"bold_lite\">Control Panel -&gt; Administrative Tools -&gt; Event Viewer <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Or just type <strong class=\"bold_lite\">Event<\/strong> in the Windows 7 Start Menu search box. It should find<strong class=\"bold_lite\"> Event Viewer<\/strong>, then just click on it.<\/p>\n<p>The exact name of the exe file is <strong class=\"bold_lite\"><code>eventvwr.msc<\/code><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Then, <strong class=\"bold_lite\">Windows Logs -&gt; Application -&gt; Wininit<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Most things are found in the <strong class=\"bold_lite\">System<\/strong> log, not <strong class=\"bold_lite\">Application.<\/strong> CHKDSK results is one of the exceptions.<\/p>\n<p><strong class=\"bold_lite\">Wininit<\/strong> is found under the <strong class=\"bold_lite\">source<\/strong> column. <strong class=\"bold_lite\">Wininit<\/strong> is not a very common value for <strong class=\"bold_lite\">source.<\/strong> Some people online say <strong class=\"bold_lite\">Winlogon<\/strong>.
